Welcome to PHILARM Website!

The Philippine Association of Research Managers, Inc. (PHILARM) founded on 09 September 1989 is a private, non-stock, non-profit professional organization dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of the role of research managers in improving and sustaining productivity in research. 

PHILARM was initiated by the Research Management Center (RMC) of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), now defunct. Since then, its membership has grown to nearly 3,000, composed largely of professionals from government agencies and institutions such as the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and their attached agencies. Members also come from local government units, state universities and colleges, private institutions, non-government organizations, and international institutions. Many hold leadership roles as heads of agencies, centers or institutes, and as researchers in their respective institutions and organizations.

As a training and continuing education provider, PHILARM offers programs covering various aspects of research management across multiple fields, including agriculture, aquatic, fisheries, forestry, science and technology, higher education, engineering, health, environmental and natural resource management, information and communications technology, climate change and disaster risk reduction, and innovation and intellectual property management, both in the Philippines and abroad.

The PHILARM National Secretariat is hosted at the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) Headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna. Currently, the Association has 17 Regional Chapters nationwide.
